Plaisance, Baron and Grail, three names and three different personalities who share the same passion: the attraction of the art market with a predilection for sculptures, paintings, furniture and objects from the 1880s to the present day.
PBG expertise is today your privileged interlocutor for any purchase, sale or estimation of objects or furniture of the XIXth, XXth and XXIst century.
Our expertise is free and confidential. We are present every week in the South-West, the South-East, Normandy and the Paris region and according to your wish we advise you on the best way to present or sell your object.
Working in partnership with various auctioneers in Drouot, Paris and the provinces, we will advise you on the best way to present your property by targeting the geographical area, the optimal date and the choice of auction house. The auctions we organise for European and international customers allow total transparency and optimal visibility of the lots presented in our catalogues.
This allows us to sell at the highest market price the objects and works that our customers entrust to us. We handle the entire process leading to the sale (inventory, valuation, transport, storage, insurance, photography, exhibition and sales catalogue) and we advise you throughout this process.
Our firm also has a network of buyers and collectors from around the world looking for designers or artists. As such, we will be happy to share it with you and to conduct a private sale on your behalf in complete confidentiality and security.
This type of transaction makes it possible to sell an art object directly without presenting it in a public auction.
These sales give greater discretion to the transaction and can sometimes be faster.
As privileged players in the art market and its workings, which can sometimes seem opaque to the uninitiated, we put our knowledge and know-how to the benefit of our clients in order to advise and guide them in the purchase and/or sale of their goods.
Arnaud Plaisance is an internationally recognized expert and antique dealer.
Self-taught, he refines his knowledge by integrating the EAC Paris school specialized in the art market.
Very quickly he opened his first gallery at the Puces de Saint Ouen and then at Vérododat before settling for nearly 20 years in the prestigious streets of Saint Germain des Près and defending the great decorators and assemblers who made the fame of the French decorative arts as well as the great Italian glass masters.
After studying cabinet-making and restoration, Ange Baron returned to Paris to study Art History at the University Panthéon Sorbonne.
Parallel to his university years of Licence and Master he joined the IESA (Ecole spécialisée dans le marché de l'art) alternating with the Galerie Plaisance in Paris.
This collaboration with Arnaud Plaisance led them to open in the Drouot district a firm of experts dedicated to the decorative arts of the 20th century.
During 10 years the firm has appraised and put on sale with the collaboration of several auctioneers in France and abroad thousands of objects, paintings and furniture which appear today in collectors, institutions, amateurs and museums throughout the world.
After completing his notarial studies, Maxime Grail turned towards the art market by joining Icart, a recognised school that trains people in the art trade.
Afterwards he worked for famous auction houses, notably in Drouot then in the Province, and very quickly his knowledge made him a specialist in 20th century decorative arts sales.
